In the 80 Tech Forum there is a "What did you do with your 80 this weekend" thread. In that thread 80 owners post what they've been doing with their rigs. This include mods, engine swaps, wheeling trips, just posting a photo of it in the driveway and saying, "I looked at it" or "did an oil change" and things related to anything 80 series. Trail runs with 40s are a magical experience. Not like a Grateful Dead show. More like a tractor exhibit at the State Fair. I can't tell you how awesome they are. You just have to come along and see for yourself. Getting a group of 40s together is challenge. There's carbs to clean, shackles to grease, and wives to ask for permission. Anyone locally have experience rebuilding a fj80 transfer case/re-gear and who would be willing to lend a hand doing it? I'd love to have my case rebuilt before goose lake tbis season because the highway miles are killing me.
