Trail runs with 40s are a magical experience. Not like a Grateful Dead show. More like a tractor exhibit at the State Fair. I can't tell you how awesome they are. You just have to come along and see for yourself. Getting a group of 40s together is challenge. There's carbs to clean, shackles to grease, and wives to ask for permission. In the 80 Tech Forum there is a "What did you do with your 80 this weekend" thread. In that thread 80 owners post what they've been doing with their rigs. This include mods, engine swaps, wheeling trips, just posting a photo of it in the driveway and saying, "I looked at it" or "did an oil change" and things related to anything 80 series. Benbow Jeep Trail is a 4x4 trail located in the Custer National Forest in Montana maintained by one of the local jeep clubs. It is 8.5 miles long and travel time is about 2 hours from parking to the mine site. It’s rated a 5/10 on OnX but take that with a grain of salt. According to some of the trail reports it’s wide enough to fit a full size truck. No one I talked to in the club had been up there before so I figured I’d scout it out this weekend.
